Guangdong Xingshi, or ‘Lion Dance,’ is a part of Han folk culture, originating from the court lion dance of the Tang Dynasty. Integrating martial arts, dance, and music, the performance is divided into three categories: Wen Lion, Wu Lion, and Young Lion. The dance interprets the lion's emotions—joy, anger, mourning, excitement—through challenging movements such as flying steps, flashing, fluttering, spinning, and leaping on the ground, showcasing the lion's power and strength.

Today, Guangdong Xingshi culture is seen on fewer and fewer occasions. However, there are still ambitious young performers dedicated to carrying on this cultural tradition.
